Korea

WorldSkills Capacity Building Centre

Giving back lies at the heart of the first WorldSkills Capacity Building Centre. Years of war had left the population of South Korea destitute and close to starvation, but the support of other nations helped the country recover and develop into the skills powerhouse it is today.

The work of the Capacity Building Centre is supported by the Global Institute for Transferring Skills (GIFTS) of the Human Resources Development Service of Republic of Korea. By sharing expertise through training, with an emphasis on Africa and the developing world, Korea is able to pay back in kind the vital help it received from others so many years ago.
