Anna’s journey to becoming a WorldSkills Champion began in her own kitchen making marmalade for friends – she quickly discovered that sweets make people happy and decided to make Pâtisserieand confectionary her profession.

She is now combining traditional techniques with modern design to create all kind of deserts from tiny chocolates, to one metre high sculptures made from sugar.

“Skills change lives every day,” she says. “They provide us with everything we need from houses to haircuts. When I create a cake it is my way to affect people’s lives. And the more excellent our skills are, the better world we are all living in.”

Anna is determined is use her role as a WorldSkills Champion to encourage skills training around the world.

Skills determine my place in the world, because they are part of my job. The better my skills are, the better I am and the better my world is.
