WorldSkills Malaysia has embraced the Year of Innovation with a comprehensive webinar-based programme designed to boost knowledge and skills both in training and competitions.

Focusing on 21 skills, from Automobile Technology and Cabinet Making to Hairdressing and Web Design, the initiative harnessed virtual technology to create new ways of learning.

The WorldSkills Malaysia Webinar 2021 programme offered support to students and trainers whose work had been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the objective of making sure national and international standards were maintained, including for potential Competitors.

From February to the end of July, WorldSkills Malaysia offered live sessions from Experts on Facebook and Zoom, each devoted to a single skill.

Areas covered by the Experts included Technical Description, Test Project, Infrastructure List, and the Marking Scheme.

The Zoom and Facebook Live sessions reached nearly 4,000 students, with each of the skills attracting an average of 3,600 views, the most popular being Car Painting with over 9,000 views.
