WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 vocational competition drives global workforce excellence

EVERETT, Wash., 1 June 2013 – What if you could bring together more than 1,000 17-to-25-year-old vocational and skills students from around the world to demonstrate their abilities and compete head-to-head to be the best in the world? That’s what WorldSkills is all about.

WorldSkills is the largest skills competition in the world, driving global workforce excellence. Held biennially, the 42nd WorldSkills Competition will bring together vocational and skills students from 54 countries to compete in 46 skill areas, and will draw more than 200,000 attendees. WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 will be held 2-7 July at the famous Leipziger Messe trade fair grounds in Leipzig, Germany and will occupy 1.2 million square feet (110,000 sq. meters) of space. And for the 8th time, Fluke Corp. is one of the sponsors of this global skills event.

Fluke and/or its sister companies, Fluke Networks and Tektronix, will provide test tools to be used in eight skills categories: Electrical Installations, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Manufacturing Team Challenge, Industrial Control, Electronics, Aircraft Maintenance, Autobody Repair and Information Network Cabling.

The company is also directly sponsoring the teams from Australia, Brazil, Columbia, India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates through donations of test tools.

Fluke is a founding Global Industry Partner with WorldSkills International, the governing body for the Competition.
