WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022 event guide
The best ways to follow all the action at the WorldSkills Africa Competition starting on 28 March.
The coastal city of Swakopmund, Namibia, will host the second WorldSkills Africa Competition from 28 March to 2 April 2022.
The event will take place at The Dome, a national hub for sports, lifestyle, and business. Youth from across Africa will take part in a wide array of skills.
Alongside WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022, the TVET Conference will also be taking place to generate knowledge, share experiences, benchmark, and innovate in skills development, as well as a Career Exhibition.
Participating countries
Almost 100 Competitors from different parts of the continent are ready to prove their skills excellence at the regional scale. These are the teams that will compete at Swakopmund, along with number of registered competitors:

TVET Conference
29–31 March 2022
The TVET Conference will take place alongside the Competition, from 29 to 31 March. Under the theme ‘Promoting Skills Development in the 21st Century for Sustainable Economic Growth and African Ownership,’ the event will be an engagement platform for local, regional, and international TVET experts, as well as policymakers and industry.
The conference is supported by the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Union Development Agency (AUDA- NEPAD), and the German International Cooperation (GIZ), through the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) programme.

How to follow along
Follow WorldSkills Africa Swakopmund 2022 on various platforms depending on your location.
- In the Southern African Development Community (SADC) you can access the event via DSTV (Multichoice).
- The Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) will also share a free to air link open to media in other countries. They will also produce several daily segments relating to the event.
