Obrigado Brazil and the WorldSkills Community!

Obrigado! “Thank you”, in Portuguese, to the WorldSkills community for your tremendous contributions to another successful WorldSkills Competition!

WorldSkills is indebted to the 800 volunteers that chose to donate their time and talents to bring the 43rd WorldSkills Competition to life. It is the combined synergy generated by our volunteers from Brazil, and around the world that make an event of this size possible, and that made visitors feel welcome and cared for.

We thank the Brazilian Member organization, SENAI, for hosting our flagship event for the first time in Latin America and for their ongoing commitment to developing skills excellence.

The WorldSkills movement is backed by a global network of partners, sponsors, advocates, and supporters across the 75 WorldSkills Member countries and regions that invest their resources and energy to raise awareness that the power of skills is necessary to keep our world working.

The Experts, Delegates, Team Leaders, Workshop Managers and Assistants, and supporters make the Competitor experience possible by sharing their expertise and passion for their skill once they are back at home.

Finally - and most important - “thank you” to the Competitors, who now join an impressive group of over 14,000 Champions. We thank you for fully committing yourself to the challenge of training and competing in the 43rd WorldSkills Competition. We encourage you to pay forward the opportunities you have had to the next generation of skilled talent. You are all Champions now, and your mentorship is essential to building the WorldSkills movement. You may be eligible to join the WorldSkills Champions Trust - an initiative developed by Champions for Champions to raise levels of engagement amongst WorldSkills Champions, and promote active involvement in WorldSkills. To learn more about the WorldSkills Champions Trust and how to join this group of advocates for the WorldSkills movement, please contact Alex Musial, alex.musial@worldskills.org, or your Member organization for an application.

The theme of WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 was “Choose”. This amazing Competition is now over; however, its impact will be long lasting if we make it so. We invite the global WorldSkills community to continue to choose. Choose excellence. Choose to dream, and work toward making your dreams come true. Choose success. Choose to build your skills. And choose to improve our world with the power of skills.
