Happy New Year from WorldSkills!

The New Year is upon us and we look forward to accomplishing even more towards our goal of improving our world with the power of skills. As driven by our Vision 2020, we are working with our Member organizations, Industry Partners, and Volunteers to showcase and inspire skills excellence around the world.

Our new brand (look and feel) will be unveiled in early 2014. This is a very important deliverable in the 2012-2015 Action Plan and will help us achieve a stronger and more focused positioning of WorldSkills globally. We look forward to showing you our new colours.

Now that WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 is behind us, we have shifted our focus to using all we have learned from past events in preparation for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015. Of course there are many other events that we look forward to throughout 2014 such as:

  • Member Organization National Skills Competitions
  • Regional Skills Competitions
  • The General Assembly, Youth Forum and Leaders Forum in Switzerland (September)

With the events, meetings, forums and conferences that are held by various WorldSkills Members throughout the year, we are most proud of the work that is done when we hear of all the lives that are touched in a positive way. Seeing the sense of pride on a Competitor’s face, giving a visiting student a chance to discover their future, providing a process and movement that raises the profile and recognition of skilled people and showing how important skills are in achieving economic growth and personal success is what makes being part of WorldSkills a joy each day.

We wish you and yours a very happy, healthy and successful New Year!
