Competition Preparation Week about to start in Brazil

From 1 to 5 February 2015, all WorldSkills’ eyes will be on the Competition Preparation Week (CPW) in São Paulo, Brazil. The Chief and Deputy Chief Experts and the Workshop Managers, Sector Managers and Jury Presidents will be present to plan and prepare the last details for their competitions.

Again this year, the CPW includes a Sponsors Forum, where local Event Sponsors and WorldSkills International’s Global Partners are there to work with the Skill Management Teams on things related to their products and services. It is a great networking opportunity but more importantly the companies get to fully engage with the skill and understand how their products and services can and will be used.

The CPW is the official launch of the countdown towards the 43rd WorldSkills Competition. Communications Officers from Member organizations are invited to attend the Marketing and Communications Working Group to hear all the latest plans for promotion, media services, marketing and special events.

On 3 February, 55 secondary schools will be coming to the CPW in order to meet with the international Delegates as part of the One School One Country programme. This is the first time the schools and countries will meet. They will exchange information and contact details so that the Competitors and students can start communicating. On 11 August, the Competitors and students will get to meet face-to-face at the school.

As part of the One School One Country launch, WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 will unveil their Celebration Stamp, which is part of the Brazlian Post Office Company’s Annual Porgramme of Celebration Stamps. Along with the Competition event logo, the stamp depicts an image of the Cable-stayed Bridge (Octávio Frias de Oliveira), which pays homage to the founder of one of the country’s main newspapers and which is one of São Paulo’s most famous landmark. From February to August 2015, all organizations belonging to the Industry System in Brazil, of which SENAI is part, will use the Commemorative Stamp on hundreds of thousands of pieces of mail. Even in this digital world, the issue of the Commemorative Stamp of WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 is a historic record to mark the hosting of the Competition in Brazil.

The week will be a hectic one, full of hard work, planning, and decision making, but each day brings us closer to WorldSkills São Paulo 2015. We will keep you updated through Facebook and Twitter. We also will capture photos and stories along the way to share with you so you can all see the faces behind the Competition.
