Celebrating the Power of Skills at the Closing Ceremony

The culmination of the 43rd WorldSkills Competition was the Closing Ceremony, an epic evening celebrating the countless hours invested in bringing WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 to life.

Ibirapuera Gymnasium, host venue of the Opening Ceremony, was once again transformed into a world-class celebration of the power of skills, as the top Competitors in each of the 50 skills took to the stage. 

At each WorldSkills Competition the Albert Vidal Award is presented to the Competitor who earned the highest score overall. This year we had a three-way tie and the award went to Jeong Woo Seo from Korea, Rianne Chester from United Kingdom, and Luis Carlos Sanches Machado from Brazil.

The finale of the Ceremony demonstrated the irresistible Brazilian energy, as the 9,000 audience members danced to the music of a well-known Brazilian Carnival group, Monobloco.

As one WorldSkills Competition comes to an end, the planning shifts focus to WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, making it the first time the Middle East will host a WorldSkills Competition. The spotlight will be on Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates 14-19 October 2017.
