Celebrate World Youth Skills Day with us 15 July 2016

WorldSkills is inviting you to celebrate World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) on 15 July 2016!

We are requesting the WorldSkills community join together to celebrate and promote WYSD, demonstrating the reach of our global community. By hosting your own local event or activities, and sharing our #SkillsRuleTheWorld campaign with your supporters, each of you can help bring global awareness to this important day.

Following the recognition last year by the United Nations of WYSD, WorldSkills will join the organizations of the United Nations and other international and regional organizations, to raise awareness on promoting skills as a means to address the challenges of unemployment and under employment. We are delighted to support Members and partner activities including the WorldSkills Africa Skills Forum in Zambia, Community Plumbing Challenge in South Africa, and UNESCO TVET Forum in Germany.

Please contact Shawna Bourke at shawna.bourke@worldskills.org, with information on your local events and activities so we may promote them through our social media platforms and include events on our WYSD webpage.

As we released the WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 Final Report and Video, the Secretariat and WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 teams were busy planning and preparing for WorldSkills Competition 2017.

We would like to remind Members of the opportunity for Champions from the past three competitions to participate in the WorldSkills Champions Forum at the General Assembly in Niagara Falls. We want to tap into expertise, experience, and passion of Champions and require a diverse representation of Champions from around the world who have lived the WorldSkills experience.
